GTT Barclays LifeSkills Into Work Programe

Sri Jagadguru Chandrashekhara Bharathi Memorial (Sri JCBM) College, Sringeri, successfully organized the GTT Barclays LifeSkills Into Work Programme for First-Year B.Com students from 04-07-2026 to 7-07-2026 with the objective of equipping students with essential workplace skills, digital competencies, financial awareness, communication abilities, and career readiness.

The programme was conducted under the able leadership of Dr. Swamy, Principal, who emphasized the importance of developing employability skills alongside academic excellence. He encouraged students to actively participate in such training programmes to prepare themselves for the dynamic corporate environment.

The programme was coordinated by Mr. Vidhyadhar M. V., Placement Officer, in collaboration with Dr. Vasanth Chavan, IQAC Coordinator, and Mr. Raghavendra, Coordinator, Personality and Skill Development Committee. Their combined efforts ensured the successful planning and smooth execution of the programme.

The training sessions were delivered by Mr. Srinivas Kulkarni, an experienced trainer, who conducted highly interactive and engaging sessions. Through practical examples, group activities, role plays, demonstrations, and discussions, he enabled students to understand and apply essential life and workplace skills.

The programme covered a wide range of topics designed to enhance students' employability, including:

  • Cyber Governance and Digital Safety
  • Financial Confidence and Digital Banking

  • Interview Preparation and Mock Interview Techniques

Throughout the programme, students actively participated in self-assessment exercises, communication activities, AI demonstrations, workplace simulations, budgeting exercises, and mock interview sessions. The interactive methodology helped students gain confidence while improving their professional and interpersonal skills.

The programme successfully created awareness among students about emerging technologies, responsible use of Artificial Intelligence, workplace ethics, financial management, and the skills required to succeed in today's competitive job market.

At the conclusion of the programme, the Principal appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and the trainer for conducting a meaningful and industry-oriented training programme. Students expressed their appreciation for the practical learning experience and the opportunity to develop skills that will benefit them throughout their academic journey and future careers.
