 The National Cadet Corps (NCC), 5A/21 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Udupi , of Sri Jagadguru Chandrashekhara Bharathi Memorial College, Sringeri , in association with the Range Forest Office, Sringeri , organized a programme titled “Junior Rangers” on 03 October 2026 as part of the 72nd Wildlife Week celebrations . The programme was held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with the participation of 72 NCC cadets . The initiative aimed to familiarize the cadets with the functioning of the Forest Department and to create awareness about wildlife conservation, forest protection, and the role of NCC cadets in supporting conservation efforts . As part of the 72nd Wildlife Week celebrations , the Karnataka Forest Department, Kerekatte Wildlife Division, Kudremukh National Park , organized a wildlife awareness programme and various competitions on 18/09/2026 at Sri JCBM College, Sringeri for students of primary schools, high schools and Pre-University colleges of Sringeri Taluk. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about India's rich wildlife, biodiversity and the importance of wildlife conservation. Various competitions were conducted for the participating students, including identification of wild animals and plants, drawing, debate and quiz competitions . More than 100 students participated in Level 1 of the competitions with enthusiasm and active involvement. On 18th September 2025 , the Department of Botany, Sri J.C.B.M. College, Sringeri organized an Extension Program for the Botany students of Veerashaiva College, Ballari . The focus of the program was on field identification of plants and understanding local biodiversity within the college campus. As a part of their curriculum, the visiting students engaged in a practical learning session guided by our Botany faculty. They explored the rich flora of the campus, learned about diverse plant species, and studied their ecological significance. The session also highlighted the importance of biodiversity conservation and hands-on field study for better understanding of theoretical concepts. This collaborative program not only enriched the knowledge of the visiting students but also fostered academic interaction between the two institutions.  On the occasion of Science Day , an outreach program was organized by the Department of Botany in association with Ajasra Research & Education Centre, Sringeri, and the Science Club of Sri JCBM College on 28th February 2025. The program aimed to impart ecological techniques to BSc Botany and Zoology students of the college. The formal inauguration took place at Dr. TMA Pai Hall, where Dr. Abhijith H U, a renowned grass taxonomist and research student at IISc Bengaluru, as well as the President of Ajasra, lit the lamp to commence the event.
