International Women's Day

International Women's Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Sri JCBM College, Sringeri, on 8th March 2025. The event was organized in association with the National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Women Empowerment Cell of the college.

The program was presided over by Srimati Pushpa Lakshmi Narayan. The Chief Guest and Inaugurator of the event was Dr. Pooja Bhat, a renowned physician from Abhinava Vidhyatheertha Hospital, Sringeri. In her inspiring speech, Dr. Pooja Bhat emphasized the importance of women’s health, self-reliance, and education in shaping a strong and progressive society. She highlighted the crucial role women play in various fields and encouraged students to break barriers and strive for excellence. She also urged everyone to work towards gender equality and create a supportive environment for women in all aspects of life. The college principal, Sri Swamy M, actively participated in the celebration and addressed the gathering.

The event was coordinated by the Women Empowerment Cell Coordinators, Smt. Rashmi K R and Smt. Shwetha. NSS Coordinators, Sri Prashanth A G and Sri Santhosh Kumar K S, also played a significant role in organizing the program. Additionally, IQAC Coordinator, Prof. Nagabhushan B R, and NAAC Coordinator, Prof. Lakshmi Narayana N H, extended their support in making the event a grand success.

As part of the celebration, the college honored NSS student Skanda for her remarkable participation in the State Republic Day Parade held at Manekshaw Ground, Bangalore. A special felicitation was also extended to the college's dedicated housekeeper, Smt. Shankuntala, in recognition of her valuable service.

The event highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment and gender equality, inspiring students and staff to work towards an inclusive and progressive society. 

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, students, and staff for their active participation and contribution towards making the event successful
