World Environment Day 2025

The World Environment Day 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and purpose at Sri Jagadguru Chandrashekhara Bharathi Memorial College, Sringeri, under the aegis of the NSS Unit on 5th June 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection and sustainable living, aligning with this year’s global theme.

The program was graced by Smt. R. S. Jeethu, Civil Judge, JMFC Court, Sringeri, who served as the Chief Guest and Resource Person. In her insightful address, she emphasized the role of citizens, especially youth, in safeguarding the environment and advocated for legal awareness regarding environmental laws.

Adding depth to the occasion, Shri Madhukar, Range Forest Officer (RFO), Sringeri, delivered an informative talk on Forest Acts and conservation laws. He shed light on the importance of forest protection, biodiversity, and the pressing need to curb deforestation.

The event witnessed active participation from students, staff, and volunteers, who pledged to adopt eco-friendly practices and work towards a greener future. The program concluded with a tree-planting activity on the college campus, reinforcing the commitment to environmental stewardship.

NSS Programme Officer and other faculty members coordinated the event successfully, making the day memorable and impactful.
